Are you an RV enthusiast in Ohio looking to make a difference? At Buckeye Auto Gifts, we understand that your RV or motorhome holds memories of numerous road trips and adventures. However, circumstances change, and you might find your trusty vehicle sitting idle in your driveway. Donating your RV is an excellent way to give back to the community while freeing up valuable space and avoiding storage costs.
Whether you own a luxurious Class A Fleetwood or a cozy pop-up camper, your vehicle can help support local charities and make a significant impact. Many of our donors have expressed relief in letting go of the maintenance burden and saving on storage fees, which can range from $150 to $300 per month. How pickup works
Pickup of your RV or motorhome is efficient and tailored to ensure a smooth experience for our donors. We typically arrange for specialized RV-transport flatbed trucks or drive-away services for your vehicle. If your RV is located at a storage lot or RV park, we coordinate directly with the facility to arrange pickup, ensuring that vehicle length and height comply with state routing requirements (typically a maximum of 13'6"). If you are not on-site during pickup, we can still handle all logistics seamlessly, allowing you to focus on your next adventure.
What drives donation value
The value of your donated RV or motorhome is largely determined by the condition of its house systems, such as the roof, slides, plumbing, and air conditioning. Any signs of water damage may lead to significant devaluation, so it's important to address these concerns before donation. Recent maintenance records can also enhance your vehicle's value, as potential appraisers will consider these factors. Seasonality plays a role too, with spring auctions often yielding the highest returns. For classic RVs, an appraisal by a qualified appraiser is necessary—don't forget to have IRS Form 8283 Section B ready.
Documentation you need
- Vehicle title (must be signed over to Buckeye Auto Gifts)
- Any service records (to show maintenance history)
- Appraisal for classic RVs (IRS Form 8283 Section B)
- Manufacturer's Statement of Origin (MSO) for off-road vehicles
- Bill of sale (if applicable, depending on state requirements)
Ohio specifics
In Ohio, the DMV allows RVs to be titled and registered under specific guidelines. RVs must be properly titled to avoid complications during transfer. Depending on your situation, a bill of sale might be needed to complete the donation. At Buckeye Auto Gifts, we assist you with all necessary paperwork, ensuring a seamless transition so you can focus on the joy your donation will bring to others.
